Maruti
Suzuki has just raced past the 1 crore(10 million) domestic car sales
mark, further reaffirming the automaker’s position as the largest and
most successful Indian automaker ofall time. To commemorate this
landmark achievement, Maruti Suzuki has pulled the wraps off the SX4
Celebration Edition sedan.
The celebration edition of the Maruti Suzuki
SX4 sedan comes with many cosmetic additions and changes to distinguish
it from the regular model. The SX4, by Maruti Suzuki’s own high
standards has been a tepid seller and best and this cosmetic upgrade
perhaps is a move to infuse some buyer interest for the SX4.

- Cubic printing on arm rest
- New seat fabric
- Chrome inside door handles
- Celebration floor mats and pillows
- Chrome AC louvers
- Celebration Edition body decals and graphics
The SX4 sedan is the only C-segment offering that Maruti Suzuki has, and
the sedan comes in both petrol and diesel engine guise. The petrol
engine of the SX4 sedan is a 1.6 liter unit producing 104 Bhp of peak
power and 145 Nm of peak torque. The engine features variable valve
timing as its top feature. The SX4 is also available in a CNG version,
with the same 1.6 liter engine, although the power and torque outputs
are scaled down suitably keeping with the nature of the CNG fuel. The
SX4 CNG sedan producing a peak power of 86 Bhp and a peak torque of 122
Nm.

maximum volumes for the car. The engine is the tried and tested 1.3
liter Multijet diesel unit producing 90 Bhp of peak power and 200 Nm of
peak torque. Notably, this Fiat multijet engine uses a variable geometry
turbo, making the SX4 the only diesel engined car in Maruti’s line up
to do so. Over the next couple of months, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga MPV
will be the second car in Maruti’s line up to feature a variable
geometry turbocharger. The SX4 Celebration Edition’s prices haven’t been
announced yet although we expect a slight premium over the current
version to justify the new set of features.
